Odie Leon Kast, 61, of Ripplemead, departed this life Sunday morning, August 11, 2013 at his home in the care of his family and hospice. Born in Giles County on April 3, 1952, he was a son of the late Odie Chapman and Ada Hilton Kast. He was a skilled carpenter and equipment operator in the construction industry. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters Margaret Lawson, Bernice Kast and Elizabeth Teass.

"Bubbie" as he was affectionately known leaves to cherish his memory his son Leslie Leon Kast of Pearisburg; his brother Charles M. Kast (Lena) of Narrows; his sisters Linda Sexton (Johnny) of Pearisburg, Dorene Merrix of Pearisburg, Mary Collins of Pembroke, and Ella Rakes (Charlie) of Pembroke; his grandson Raymond Kast; his fiancee Ann Powers; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, Tuesday at 7:00 pm with Pastor Eddie Kendall and Pastor Alvin Trivett officiating.
