ORETHA VIRGINIA ANDERSON, 94, of Lane St. in Pearisburg departed this life Saturday morning, November 12, 2016 in the quietness of her own home. Born in Bluff City on February 27, 1922 she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Lillian Baker Casey. A beloved homemaker, mother, and Christian neighbor she was a member of First Baptist Church, Virginia Heights, Pearisburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cecil Anderson, her son Melvin Douglas Anderson, Sr. her grandson Melvin Douglas (Bam) Anderson, Jr., her sisters Olivia Adkins, Mary Frances Chapman, Kathleen Smith, her brothers John Casey and Lawrence Casey.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son and daughter-in-law Eugene and Deborah Anderson of Dublin; her daughters and sons-in-law Barbara A Johnson of Pearisburg, Betty and Richard Gray of Elgood, WV, Virginia and Joseph McKenzie of Princeton, WV, Christine A Sears of Pearisburg; her fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and her four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 2:00 pm in The First Baptist Church, 152 Ballard St. in Pearisburg with her pastor, The Rev Dr. Michael Bratton, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the services.
