PATRICIA ANN SAUNDERS, 75, of Northside Road, Newport, departed this life Friday evening, July 8, 2016 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Montgomery County on January 3, 1941, she was a daughter of Willard and Minnie Grubb. She was a graduate of Blacksburg High School, a member of the Rebecca Lodge, and retired from Virginia Tech Mail Room with over 30 yrs service. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Patty Broyles, her son Stephen Saunders, her sister Bobbie Burt, and her brother Hurkey Grubb.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of fifty-three years Minor Craig Saunders; her grandchildren Valarie and Eddie Lane, Benjamin Broyles and Thomas Younce; her great-grandchildren Jadelynn Lane, Kaylee Lane, Madison Lane, and Ethan Greer; and her son-in-law John Broyles.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 am in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St, Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall and Pastor Dewey Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery in Craig County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6 until 8 pm Sunday.
