Patricia Jane "Patty" Showalter, 71, of Narrows departed this life Saturday afternoon, February 15, 2014 at Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Born on December 30, 1942 she was a daughter of the late Everett and Helen Bradberry Midkiff of the Wayside Community. She had faithfully attended the Rich Creek United Methodist Church when she could and in later life had been a resident of Fairview Home in Dublin and Heritage Hall Rich Creek.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son Wayne Bowles of Roanoke; her sister Judy Fling of Shelbyville, Delaware; and many devoted cousins, relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be conducted Sunday at 3;00 pm in the New Beginnings Church in Narrows with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Her cremated remains will be interred in Fairview Cemetery at Narrows. The Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke is in charge of the arrangements.
