R B Hendrickson, 91, of Pembroke departed this life Saturday morning, April 29, 2017.at Lewis-Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg in the loving care of his daughters and the medical staff. He was born on January 8, 1926 a son of the late Dorsey Zed and Maggie Rose Hendrickson Sesler and after his mothers death was adopted by his grandparents, Ott and India Hendrickson. RB was a graduate of Pembroke High School (The Corncutters) was president of his class, majored in baseball and basketball (which he later coached), was a veteran of the U S Navy, and a beloved member of Bethel Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sister Ruth H Simmons, brothers Charles, Ott, and Bill Hendrickson and a grandson Joshua Steven Hendrickson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son Buck Hendrickson of South Lake, Texas; his daughters and son-in-law Min Rose H Miller of Lexington, and Margaret H and Andrew Jones of Hamilton; his grandchildren Beth Lewis, Tyler Hendrickson, Jordan Hendrickson, Callander Turner and Clair Wilson and three great-grandchildren; ; his adopted children Kayla and Daniel Albert.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 6:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St, Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 until 6 pm before the service. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Prostate Cancer Research. .
