Rebecca Sue Lucas Duncan, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, in Pembroke, Virginia. Born on June 3, 1948, in the picturesque state of Virginia, Rebecca's life was a testament to her resilience, kindness, and unwavering spirit.

Rebecca's early years were spent under the loving guidance of her parents, Julian Lucas and Margaret Neal Williams. The values they instilled in her from a young age laid the foundation for the woman she would become. Her life was enriched with love and companionship when she married the late Terry Ewell Duncan.

A devoted mother to her son, Brian Charles Duncan, Rebecca's legacy continues through him and her adored grandchildren, Brian Jacob Duncan and Seth Owen Duncan. Her love for her family was the cornerstone of her life, and the memories they created together will be cherished forever.

Professionally, Rebecca dedicated over three decades of her life to Virginia Tech, where she served as a housekeeper. Outside of work, Rebecca found solace and joy in the art of gardening, nurturing her plants with the same care and attention she gave to every aspect of her life. An avid fan of the television series MASH, Rebecca enjoyed the laughter and comfort it brought her. Her interest in family history was more than a hobby; it was a journey into the past that allowed her to connect with her roots and preserve the stories of her ancestors for future generations.
