Ressie Brown Thomas, 96, of Narrows, VA passed away on Friday, February 1,2019.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett; parents, Luther and Emily Fisher; and brothers Orsbin and Harold Fisher.

Survivors include her son Roger and wife Cheryl; 3 sisters Hulda Snider, Hazel (Jack) Lipes, and Frances Lafon; one brother, Dallas (Sarah) Fisher; many nieces and nephews.

Ressie was born and raised in Newport, Virginia before moving to Narrows where she met her husband, Everett, while working at the Celanese Corporation. God, family, friends, and a good laugh were the joys of her life. She spent many happy hours gardening, cooking and listening to music. The happy, special memories she leaves with family and friends will be forever cherished.

The family is very thankful and appreciative of the loving care Ressie received at English Meadows Assisted Living in Christiansburg, VA and Snyder's Nursing Home in Salem,VA.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke followed by the Funeral Service at 1 p.m. in Kendall's chapel. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows.
