Richard Franklin Johnston, 57, of Narrows departed this life Thursday, June 9, 2011. Born in Giles County on March 12, 1954, he was a son of the late James Paul and Geneva King Johnston. He is survived by his son James Julius Johnston and his daughter Shannon Lee Johnston both of Narrows ;grandchildren James Franklin Johnston, Christopher Lee Johnston, and Nicole Johnston; brother James Johnston of Radford; half-brother Charles Edward Johnston of Pearisburg; half-sister Patty Ann Kapple of Akron, Ohio. Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 am at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg Saturday, June 11, 2011. As Richard had requested there will be no viewing or visitation time.
