Richard Robert Moses Sr.

Richard Robert Moses Sr., affectionately known to his friends as “Bob” a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, at his home in Hiwassee, Virginia. Born on June 21, 1952, in Waterbury, Connecticut, Bob's life was a testament to his resilience, compassion, and sense of humor.

Bob was a man of many talents and interests. He proudly served his country as a Private in the Army, a time during which he developed a lifelong commitment to discipline and service. After his military tenure, he embarked on a career as a truck driver for Warner, where he was known for his reliability and dedication to his work. Bob's love for life was evident in everything he did. He had a passion for crocheting beautiful blankets. His blankets were not just tokens of warmth but also of the love he had for those he gifted them to. Bob was an avid fisherman, often spending serene mornings by the water, waiting for the next big catch. He was a lover of simple pleasures, enjoying a good cup of coffee, the taste of a slice of pizza, and the company of his beloved furbabies. Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, Bob loved to tell jokes. His laughter was infectious, and he had a unique ability to lift the spirits of everyone around him. His love for jigsaw puzzles was more than a pastime; it was a reflection of his patience and attention to detail. Each piece he placed was a step toward creating a complete picture, much like the way he approached his life – with intention and care.

Bob's family was the centerpiece of his life. He is survived by his loving sons, Robert Moses Jr. (Cindy) and Timothy Moses; daughters, Jennifer Kennedy (Steven) and Kristina Niles (Seth); grandchildren, Amy Moses (Ashley), Alexis Carr (Arliss), Roselyn Moses, Ronald Moses, Zach Moses (Krista), Steven Kennedy, Joey Kennedy, Cora Kennedy, Quinn Moses, Brooklyn Moses (Destiny Rorrer); and great-grandchildren, Skialar Moses, and Lincoln Moses. He also leaves behind his sister, Mary Ann Moses; and a special niece, Theresa Lemon, along with several other nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Preceded in death by his parents, Richard Helen Nowell Moses and Virginia Crane; his beloved wife, June "Sissy" Moses; and his sister, Patricia Tabor, Robert's legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will live on through the lives of those he touched.

The family wishes to send a special note of gratitude to the Pulaski County EMS and Sheriff’s office for their professional assistance during this time.
