Richard "Rosebud" Rose, 50, of Pembroke departed this life Monday evening, July 12, 2010, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke. Born in Lynchburg on September 19, 1959, he was a son of the late Addie Belle Carter Rose and Waldo R. Rose. He was employed in the masonry trade and was a 1976 graduate of Giles High School.

He leaves to cherish his memory his best friend and companion Diane Merrix of Pembroke; his son Phillip Rose of the U S Marine Corps, Camp LeJune, NC; his brother and sister-in-law David and Louise Rose of Blacksburg; his sister Linda Collins Carter of Vinton; his two grandchildren; several aunts and uncles and a large group of faithful friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke with burial following in the Fillinger Cemetery in Pembroke.
