Rickey Odell Pollard of Glen Lyn, Va passed away September 6, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born December 23, 1955 in Giles County VA to James and Hazel Pollard.
He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Being a grandfather was one of his greatest joys and was lovingly known to his grandchildren as Pooh-paw (Brett), Pee-paw (Harlei), and Boo (Ambriella & Jaxon).
When his health allowed, he enjoyed being outdoors mowing or walking his dog Luke along New River. In his later years his time was spent at home with his wife. He enjoyed listening to his favorite music and spending time with his family. He was of Christian Faith.
He was proceeded in death by his parents a brother Roger Pollard and brother-in-laws Junior Terry and Daniel Broussard.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years Darlene Williams Pollard, two sons Jesse Pollard and Jamie Pollard (Rose), grandchildren - Brett, Harlei, Ambriella and Jaxon Pollard, great-grandchildren Myla and Weston Pollard with one more great grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his sisters Judy Broussard and Vivian Terry and special loved ones Cassidy Goumenis and Shane Albert.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the care given to Mr. Pollard by Dr. Grube and his staff and ACG Hospice.
In keeping with his wishes a private celebration of life will be held by immediate family at a later date. A guestbook is available to send condolences to the family by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com. The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to serve the Pollard family.
