Robert Donald "Bobby" Wilson, age 68, of Water Street in Pembroke departed this life on Tuesday morning, February 28, 2005 at his home in the loving care of his family. Born at Saltville on August 31, 1937 he was a son of Lula Prater Wilson of Pembroke and the late R. T. "Tom" Wilson. He was a member of Riverview Baptist Church; and retired from Chemical Lime Co. at Goldbond with over twenty years service.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife and devoted caregiver Peggy Shifflett Wilson; his mother; three sons and daughters-in-law Andy and Teresa Wilson of Ripplemead, Earl and Melanie Wilson of Daleville, David and Kristi Wilson of Christiansburg; three daughters and a son-in-law Anna and Jimmy Taylor of Kire, Missy Kilgore of Haysi, Donna Wilson of El Calhoun, CA; nine grandchildren Brittany and Ryan Wilson, Chris and Ashley Kilgore, Mindy Wilson, Jared and Caleb Taylor, Kaitlin and Ethan Wilson; one great-grandchild Christopher James Kilgore; two sisters and brothers-in-law Jean and Glenn Athey of Pembroke, Nancy and Gary Reed of Pembroke and his little buddy, Sandy, his guard dog.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Shahn Wilburn and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. The family expresses their deep gratitude to all of Bobby's caregivers during his illness.
