ROBERT FORD BURTON, 91, of Sunny Ridge Community, Pearisburg, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. He was born June 16, 1925 in Giles County. Mr. Burton was a longtime employee serving 36 years as a maintenance worker for Giles County Public Schools. He was a son of the late Sullivan Boyd Burton and Della Jane Thompson Burton. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Williams Burton, four sisters Ollie Mae Perkins, Daisy Munsey, Dolly Perkins, Eresha Conner and two brothers Albert Burton and James Burton.

He is survived by special nieces Birdie Moye, Betty Burton, Anna Holt, Martha Cole and nephew Jamie Burton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with entombment following in Birchlawn Abbey in Pearisburg.
