Robert Lee Sexton, 91, of Newport, VA departed this life Monday morning, August 20, 2018 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born in Ripplemead on May 4, 1927 he was a son of the late William Sherwood and Thelma Troutt Sexton. "Bob" attended Pearisburg Christ Fellowship and was retired from the National Gypsum Company as a kiln operator with over 35 years service. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Eunice Cumbee Sexton and his brothers Verlie, Leslie and William.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons and daughters-in-law Jerry and Debbie Sexton of Owensville, KY, Bobby and Deena Sexton of Blacksburg, Jeffrey and Peggy Sexton of Dublin; his daughter and son-in-law Cathy and Ronnie Martin of Pearisburg; his 12 grandchildren Sean, Shelia,Shane, Misti, David, Jamie, Haley, Bobby Joe, Lori, Grant, Chris, Troy; his 33 great-grandchildren; his brother Ray Sexton of Narrows; and his sister Virginia Parsons of Pearisburg.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, with Pastor Phil Vickers officiating. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery, Newport, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the services.
