Obituary

Roechelle Porterfield Breeding 58 of Maybrook, born October 29, 1964. She was the daughter of the late Noble and Christine Porterfield. A Devoted mother, sister, and friend, danced into the arms of Jesus March 9, 2023 in the care of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.

She graduated from Giles High School in 1983. She would have told you her greatest achievements and joys were being with her family and friends and over the last 10 years being in the Rescue squad where she did what she loved most, saving lives and helping her community. You could also find Rochelle enjoying being outdoors planting flowers or putting up decorations at her house.  She loved to write and could fill many blank pages with the many stories she wrote. She always had a smile on her face and was nice to everyone she met. These last few months she had been battling an illness but was always in good spirits until her last day and that's how everyone will remember her – as a fighter and loving person.

She is preceded in death by her parents Noble and Christine Porterfield, husband Allen Breeding, sister (Micky) Elizabeth Porterfield. And her fur babies Cootie and Lil Bill.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son Allen (Henry) Breeding, fur babies Bella and many more. Special cousins, Bobby Joe, Michelle "Sissy Missy" (Michael) Raines, Cassidy (Cody) Pagan, Tracie "Sissy T" (Greg) Smith, Trey (Danielle) Smith, Ashley (Jr), Katlyn, Kandice, and Rowdy Cooper all of Newport. One of three childhood best friends Vicki Tickle. All her Rescue and Fire family of Giles County.

As many know, she was a mentor and someone to look up to and over the years she became a surrogate mother to Rose and Grant Sexton, Christopher (CJ) Hagreen, Matthew (Caleb) Stump, and Sandra Cayton (Cat Monkey Jr).
