Roger Lee Dowdy, 60, of Maybrook-Eggleston Road in Pembroke died Friday November 17, 2006 while enjoying an evening of deer hunting. Born in Pulaski on March 2, 1946 he was a son of the late Marvin Dowdy and Stella Hutton and the beloved foster son of James and Mildred Dowdy Breeding. Roger was a 1964 graduate of Giles High School and had been employed by Snyder & Hunt as a concrete finisher. He was preceded in death by two sisters Virginia and Hazel Dowdy.

He is survived by a brother Wilburn Wilson Dowdy of Soucier, Mississippi; three sisters Brenda Lawrence of Christiansburg, Linda Chrisley of Christiansburg, Janet Dalton of Pearisburg; several nieces and nephews and a special niece MaKayla "Little One" Chrisley.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
