Roger Lee Martin, 61, of Doe Creek Road in Pembroke, departed this life Thursday afternoon, December 20, 2007 at U V A Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. Born in Pearisburg on October 15, 1946 he was a son of the late Dick Slater and Mabel Kellison Martin. He was a graduate of Giles High School, a veteran of the U S Army, Vietnam Era, and retired from Celanese Celco Plant at Narrows.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Mavis Tawney Martin; sons and daughters-in-law Shawn and Amy Martin of Roanoke and Scott and Melissa Martin of Salem; a brother and sister-in-law Richard and Marie Kast Martin of Salem; a sister and brother-in-law Phyllis and Hobart Dunn of Stuarts Draft, VA; seven grandchildren Emma, India, Eden, Cederic, Skyler, Xelynea and Trever.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday evening at 6:00 PM in The Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening two hours before the services (4 to 6 PM).
