Roger Ervin Staton, of Roanoke and formerly of Craig County departed this life Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born in Manassas, VA on July 10 he was a son of the late James Nathamiel and Avis Elizabeth Lawson Staton. He had been employed as a painter and construction worker at VPI and for contractors.

He leaves to cherish his memory several nieces and nephews: Lisa Baldwin of Pembroke, Willie Carico of Pembroke, Roberta Voigt of Troutville, Shelby Staton of TN, Shane Staton of TX, Barry Staton of TX, James Mills of IN and Robert Mills of Craig Co.; and several great-nieces and Nephews.
