Roy Lee Martin, 75, of Pembroke departed this life Monday morning, February 12, 2018 at his home. Born in Giles County on August 25, 1942, he was a son of the late Roy Glen and Leuna Neice Martin. Roy was a graduate of Pembroke High School (class of 1960 Corncutters), a long time member of Riverview Baptist Church; and was retired from the Celanese Plant at Narrows. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister Patty Martin and a brother David Martin.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 54 years Ellen McGuire Martin; his son Jason Christopher Martin of Vermillion, SD; his daughter Lori M Spencer and husband Phillip of Narrows; his brother Todd Martin of Maybrook; his sisters Lindda Myers of Maybrook and Alice Huffman and husband Bobby of Rich Creek; his grandchildren Tyler Whittaker, Tessa Whittaker, and Aaryan Jayden Tobias Martin; and his step-grandchildren Dylan Spencer and Alyssa Christian and her husband Kane.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 2:00 pm, at Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead with Pastors Shahn Wilburn and Gary Poff officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the church Friday evening from 6 until 8 pm. the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke is in charge of the arrangements.
