Roy Brown Richardson, 94, of River Road in Pembroke departed this life Sunday morning May 27, 2007 at Montgomery Regional Hospital . Born in Ripplemead on March 5, 1913 he was a son of the late James F. and Marcella Peters Richardson. Roy was a veteran of the U S Army in WW II , earned his living as a carpenter and housebuilder, and owned and operated Richardsons Mobile Home Park in Pembroke. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Helen Eppley and two sons Winfred J. Richardson and James (Tommy) Richardson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons Emory B. Richardson and Donald W. Richardson both of Roanoke; three daughters Charlotte R. Ball of Roanoke, Lois R. Vaught of Collinsville, and Doris R. Poff of Goodview; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother Robert E. Richardson of San Francisco, CA, and a sister Mary Elizabeth Hines of Ferrum.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday May 30, 2007 at 2:00 PM in Birchlawn Abbey Chapel in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at The Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
