Ruth Christine Goodwin, 88, formerly of Giles County died Monday morning January 17, 2005 at Richfield Nursing Center in Salem. Born in Waiteville, WV on February 23, 1916 she was a daughter of the late Riley C. and Flora Doss Harless. She was preceded in death by her husband Bigie Goodwin, two sons Johnny Goodwin and Ralph Goodwin, a sister Runella Caldwell and a brother Edwin Harless.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons and daughters-in-law Harold and Diane Goodwin, Luther and Margie Goodwin all of Florida, Don Goodwin of Goldbond and Bobby Goodwin; two daughters Mary Scaggs of Salem and Violet Kirk of Bedford; four sisters Thelma Elmore, Margeline Harless and Garnett Henthorne all of New Castle, Ada Skeens of South Carolina; one brother Charlie Harless of Radford; twenty-one grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a special friend Frank Graveley of Salem.

The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke Wednesday evening from 6 to 7 PM. Funeral services will follow at 7 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be Thursday at the Goodwin Cemetery at Kire in Giles County.
