Selida Collins Cliborne

Selida Helen Collins Cliborne of Narrows, Virginia passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on May 29, 2026. Born in Baltimore Maryland on March 20, 1962 she was a daughter of the late Ernest Collins and Frankie Cook Heath. While her earthly journey has come to an end, the love, kindness, and joy she shared throughout her life will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Selida was a woman of remarkable strength, compassion, and grace. She had a gift for bringing light into even the darkest circumstances, often finding a reason to smile when others could not. Her honesty, humor, and caring spirit made her a treasured friend and confidant to many. She never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel welcome, valued, and loved.

Family meant everything to Selida. She cherished every conversation, every visit, and every moment spent with those she loved, whether she was sharing stories, or offering advice, or simply calling to check in, she made it her mission to stay connected to the people who meant the most to her. Though she had no children of her own, she held a special love for children and found great joy in watching them grow and thrive. Her nurturing heart touched the lives of countless young people and she loved them as if they were her own. She loved to gamble and lay in the sun.

Selida is survived by her devoted husband, John (Patrick) Cliborne. Though they married later in life, their bond was one built on deep love, mutual respect, and unwavering devotion. Patrick cared for Selida with extraordinary tenderness and dedication, standing beside her through life’s joys and challenges. Together they shared a love that will remain an enduring part of her legacy. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Frankie Bernice Cook and her father, Charles Ernest Collins and sister, Kemma Collins.

Left to cherish her memory are her step-children, Christy Razdion, Rebecca Wager, and Edward Cliborne; sisters, Charmon Wolford and husband Ricky Wolford and their son, Mark Wolford and wife, Nikki Wolford; Nora Perdue and husband Perry Perdue and their children, Ricky, Rylan, Grayson, Breonna, Elise, and Alyssa Rogers and husband, Mildred Miller and husband, Chris Miller and their daughter Gemma Miller; her brother, Charles Collins and wife, Patricia Collins along with their children, Jesse Collins, Cheyanne Eads her husband, Tyler Eads; Uncle Roger Cook, and cousins, Carol Hatfield, Renea Brown and Lisa Gobel. Selida also leaves behind her beloved great nieces, Aubrey daughter of Alyssa Rogers, and Lilliana daughter of Cheyanne and Tyler Eads who grew up hearing stories of the extraordinary woman whose love helped shape their family.

To know Selida was to know loyalty, laughter, strength and unconditional love. She was the person turned to in times of need, the voice on the other end of the phone when encouragement was needed, and the steady presence who reminded others they were never alone. Her impact on the lives she touched cannot be measured, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. While our hearts grieve her loss, we take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with those who have gone before her and is now in the presence of her Heavenly Father. Her memory will live through the family she loved so fiercely, the friendships she treasured, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and generosity. Selida was more than a wife, sister, aunt and friend, she was a blessing to all who knew her and her love will remain with us always.
