Stanley Gardner Dean, 49, of Pearisburg passed from this life to be with his Heavenly Father, Wednesday evening, February 3, 2010 at Montgomery Regional Hospital after a long illness. Born in Pearisburg on May 23, 1960, he was a son of William Dean of Pearisburg and the late Lillian Dickerson Dean. He was also preceded in death by a sister Rebecca Lynn Dean.

He leaves to cherish his memory his father William Dean and Dorine Merrix of Pearisburg; his sister and brother-in-law Teressa and George Austin of Pembroke; his brother, Darrell Dean and Tammy Phillippi of Radford; his special caregiver Chris Carter and Family of Christiansburg; and a host or nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 2:00 PM in First Baptist Church in Pembroke with the Rev James Cooper and the Rev. Larry Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 until 2 PM before the services.
