Stella C. Kast, 90, of Pembroke passed away on December 4, 2024. She was born on January 27,1934 in Pembroke to James and Annie Caldwell.

She grew up on Little Stony Creek in Pembroke and resided in Giles County for the entirety of her life. She retired from Virginia Tech Department of Human Nutrition and Foods where she worked as a purchasing agent. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, thrifting and decorating. In her free time, she could often be found at Walmart or Goodwill talking to her family and friends. She loved taking walks in nature and found beauty and good in everyone and everything while never meeting a stranger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Alfred Kast her husband of 55 years. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Marvin Caldwell, Harvey Caldwell, and Elsie Higgs.
