Steven Lee Covill, 55, of Pearisburg and Rural Retreat departed this life Monday, June 28, 2010 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born on February 18, 1955, in Christiansburg, he was a son of the late Robert Franklin and Pauline Maxey Covill. He had been employed at Ethan Allen Furniture Plant in Dublin and was a veteran of the U S Navy, and was a member of Ingram Village United Methodist Church. An infant brother, Keith Edward Covill preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters and brothers-in-law Carol and Jimmy Sutphin of Rural Retreat, Donna and Donnie Wimmer of Eggleston; his brother Jerry Franklin Covill of Rural Retreat; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in the McClaugherty Cemetery at Clendennin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Graveside military services will be conducted by American Legion Posts #311 Pembroke, #68 Narrows, #145 Peterstown and VFW Post #6000 Narrows.
