Steven Lee Wilson, born on May 31, 1950, in Porterville, California, peacefully passed away on January 24, 2026, in Pembroke, Virginia. Steven lived a life characterized by dedication, pride, and service, both to his country and his family.

He proudly served as an SP-4 in the Army as a Special Identification Operator with the Army Security Agency, earning accolades such as the National Defense Service Medal and the Sharpshooter designation. His military service was a source of pride for Steven and shaped his strong character and values.

Professionally, he made significant contributions as part of the surplus department at Virginia Tech, where he was known for his work ethic and commitment to his role.

A devoted husband, Steven leaves behind his beloved wife, Eva "Lu" Wilson. He is also survived by his cherished children, son Ryan Wilson and daughter Cieara Rogers, who were greatly enriched by his guidance and love. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Everett Wilson, MaKena Wilson, Dominic Rogers, Braylon Rogers, and Garrett Rogers, who held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Lynn Wilson.  

Steven was a family man who cherished the time spent with his loved ones. He enjoyed hobbies such as Nascar and actively participated in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts alongside his son, Ryan, imparting invaluable lessons and creating cherished memories.

He is survived by his brothers, Craig Wilson, David Wilson, Christopher Wilson, and Michael Wilson, who will remember him fondly. Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Freeland Wilson and Roxalanne Churchill Wilson; and his sisters, Linda Shepherd and Jan Theis.

The memory of Steven Lee Wilson will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him, as he leaves behind a legacy of service, family devotion, and strength.
