Susan Williams Radford, 63, of the Hoges Chapel Community at Pembroke departed this life Sunday afternoon, November 13, 2005 at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. Born at Mt. Lake in Giles County on April 2, 1942 she was a daughter of the late Gibb and Beatrice Songer Williams. For over twenty years she operated a daycare at her home where she lovingly cared for "my babies". She was a graduate of New River Community College and Radford University.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Melvin L. "Pete" Radford; three daughters and sons-in-law Tammy and Billy Joe Johnston of Pembroke, Kelli and Troy Williams of Ripplemead, Kristin R. Radford of Pembroke; three grandchildren Samantha, Brittney, and Ashley Johnston all of Pembroke; two brothers Kenneth Williams of Christiansburg, Joe Williams of Pembroke; three sisters Nancy Ferris of Virginia Beach, Carol Davis of Blacksburg, Jean Brumfield of Christiansburg.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with The Rev. Jannette Clavez and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
