Timothy Bryan McMahan, 54, of Pembroke and Blacksburg, died Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at his home after an extended illness. A free spirit since his youth he delighted in the joys of the creeks, the forest, his animal friends, and enjoyed being with his friends. He was a son of the late Walter and Elva Britts McMahan. He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law Terry and Lois McMahan of Daleville and Steve and Cathy Taylor McMahan of Blacksburg, his neice Brooke McMahan of Richmond and his nephew Brett McMahan of Sterling. Funeral services will be private and the family suggests that memorials be made in Tim's memory to The Humane Society. The Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke is in charge of the arrangements.
