Vernon Matthew Conley, 54, of Narrows Road at Narrows, departed this life Saturday May 2, 2009 at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Giles County on December 26, 1954, he was a son of the late Russell Burman Conley and Martha Eugene Finley Conley Harvey. He was a veteran of the U S Army and attended the Conley Hollow Community Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son David Conley of Rich Creek; his daughter Stephanie Conley Obenshain of Peterstown; his sister Rebecca Conley-Tait; his brothers Burman Eugene Conley, Paul W. Conley, James Milton Conley all of Narrows; his only granddaughter Harley Conley; and his step-father Bud Street of Narrows, uncles, aunts, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Tony Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in the Conley Family Cemetery at Narrows. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the services.
