Viola Gray Hanes, 76, of Pearisburg, died Monday morning June 2, 2008 at Pulaski Health and Rehab. Center after a long illness.

Born in Narrows on February 11, 1932 she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Gladys Stebar Blankenship. Her daughter Regina Brown preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband Rolf Arthur Hanes of Norway; two sons Wendell Brown of Pembroke and Robert Brown of Liberty, PA; two brothers Gary Blankenship and Billy Blankenship both of Baltimore; three sisters Helen Greenleaf of Pearisburg, Madeline Gautier of Narrows, Sylvia Lilly of Peterstown, WV; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren.
