Obituary

Rev. Virgil Victor Vaught, 86, of Pembroke, departed this life Sunday morning August 26, 2012 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke. Born in Giles County on December 3, l925, he was a son of the late Kenneth Keith Sr. and Inis Mae Kirk Vaught. He was a strong and devout Christian serving for many years in the Gospel Ministry as pastor of the Full Gospel Church of God at Hoges Chapel, on the radio, in tent revivals, as a skilled musician and singer (in his later years bringing joy with his music in several area nursing homes) and in many many home based services. In his secular employment he retired from the Radford Army Ammunition Plant, was a television technician, sold insurance and real estate, but was always a farmer at heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Donald Vaught and seven brothers and sisters.



He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of seventy years who was his partner in the ministry, in his music, and in his work, Inez Duncan Vaught; his daughter Lois Bryan of Pembroke; his sons and daughters-in-law Wayne and Carol Robertson Vaught of Rich Creek, Keith and Debbie Crigger Vaught of Max Meadows, Chester and Diane Woodruff Vaught of Skippers; his sister Bernice McCoy of Newport; his thirteen grandchildren, and his seventeen great-grandchildren.



Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Mausoleum in Christiansburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 pm.
