Virginia Mae Bland Stafford, affectionately known as Jenny, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, in Roanoke, Virginia. Born on May 16, 1942, in Blacksburg, Virginia, Jenny was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Jenny was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her devoted son, Michael Stafford and his wife Stephanie; her adoring grandchildren, Elizabeth Paige Vandergrift and Kelly Nicole Martin; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Gunner Hilton, Jayden Martin, Xander Vandergrift, and Kendrick Vandergrift, with one more great-grandchild joyously anticipated. Her vibrant spirit and nurturing presence will be profoundly missed by all.

Jenny was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Charles Bland and Lucy Christine Hand Bland; her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Diane Martin and Randy Martin; her brothers, Tommy Bland, Ronnie Bland, and Mickey Bland; and her sister-in-law, Sue Bland. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and the memories they shared will continue to be cherished by those who remember them.

Throughout her life, Jenny was a pillar of her community, known for her hard work and friendly demeanor. She spent many years as a dedicated retail clerk at Wades and Fast Fuel, where her warm smile and helpful nature were appreciated by customers and colleagues alike. Later, she took pride in serving her neighbors as a rural mail carrier in Ripplemead and Big Stoney Creek, where her reliability and kindness left a lasting impact.

The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM in Kendall Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 3:00 PM in Kendall Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Ratcliff officiating.  A guestbook is available to send condolences to the family by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com.  The staff of Kendall Funeral Home is honored to serve the Stafford family.
