Virginia Blevins Williams, 86, of Salem, VA departed this life Friday, August 17, 2012 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem. Virginia was born December i9, 1926 in Jefferson, NC, a daughter of the late Charlie M. and Beulah Hurley Blevins. She was an active member in both the Baptist Church and The Church of Christ; worked at American Viscose and Crest Uniform; and graduated from Jefferson High School in Jefferson, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale Edward Williams, her sisters Minnie Williams (Belmont), Elizabeth Puckett (Charles), and a brother Junior Edward Blevins.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 am in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. Following Virginia's wishes there will be no visitation and she requests that flowers be omitted and contributions be made to the charity of choice. Virginia leaves behind special thanks for good neighbors and friends who will never be forgotten, and for the good neighbors at Knollwood Apartments (Richfield) in Salem.
