St. Augustine: Walter Pace, 52, previously from Newport News, Va, died peacefully in the arms of his wife Jan, of Newport News, VA, on Thursday, July 22 at the Anne and Donald McGraw Center for Caring, in Jacksonville.

Walter is survived by his parents Nathaniel and Sylvia Vaught Pace of Newport News, brother Jeff Pace and fiance Theresa Hammock, step children Jonathan, Tiffany, and Mary Mason of Newport News, and close friend Pamela Thom of St, Augustine, and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Walter was born in Savannah, GA on January 17, 1958 and graduated from Menchville High School. He received numerous degrees from Old Dominion University and Christopher Newport College. Walter was a very accomplished pianist and brilliant accountant. He worked as a self-employed CPA in VA. and was employed by Island Doctors, Inc in St. Augustine Florida. He will missed by many.

A private funeral will be held at in the mountains of Virginia, where he will be buried in the Vaught Family Cemetery at Newport, VA, Thursday July 29, 2010 at 2:00 PM. Arrangements are with the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke, VA. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
