Wanda Dell Harless Harry, age 80, of Fairview Acres Pearisburg, VA, returned to her Heavenly Father on 21 September, 2019 after a lifetime of caring for others. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Willard Oakley Harry, one daughter Valerie Hope Sylvester (husband Stephen Sylvester) of Lindside, two grandchildren Kelsy Sylvester and Valentina Gilbert (husband Seth Gilbert), and one great-grandchild Jackson Gilbert who was at the center of her final years. Also surviving her is one niece Ruth Ann Harry Lytton of Radford (husband Derek Klock), and one nephew Tony B. Harry (wife Terri Harry) of Peterstown, WV.

Born in Waiteville, WV on January 25, 1939 to the late Dexter "Deck" and Ruth Porterfield Harless she came to Pearisburg in the late 50's as a live-in caregiver to the then County Sheriff's children. After marriage she and her devoted husband spent many years hosting family and friends in their Pearisburg home. She was loved by the many children she cared for over the years when she had a daycare in her home. She will always be remembered as "Momaw Dell" to those children and their parents. Often found in her kitchen or garden, she loved cooking for others; and her family will fondly remember the many shared meals. She also loved to sew and was an accomplished and talented seamstress. Active in church all her life, she was devoted to her Lord and Savior and was a member of Riverview Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, and loving older sister Dean Harless French.

Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 2 PM at the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel in Pembroke with internment to follow the service at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. Family will welcome others to pay final respects and to share fond remembrances at Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke, VA on Wednesday, September 25 from 6-8 pm.
