Obituary

William David Clark, 88, of Gale Road in Pearisburg died Saturday evening June 16, 2007 at Friendship Manor in Roanoke. Born in Giles County on August 10, 1918 he was a son of the late Harvey Lee and Laura Bell Gillespie Clark. He was a veteran of the U S Army, WW II, retired from the Celanese Celco Plant, and a member of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alabama Comer Clark, a brother Alfred Clark, five sisters Lena Horton, Ada Harless, Peggy Squire Williams, Ivy Lee Vaught, and Nannie Sue Wimmer.



He leaves to cherish his memory two sons Douglas A. and wife Judy Clark of Mt. Holly, NC and David Lee Clark of Pearisburg; ten grandchildren Elizabeth Ann Woodyard, Pamela Michelle Lowe, Barbara Jean Tawney, Donna Gail McCormick, Douglas Allen Clark, Jr., Debra D. Merrix, Heather M Munsey, Kimberly D. Hobbs, Eric J. Clark, Brandon E. Clark; three step-grandchildren Warren Ray, Robin Ray, and Pam and Randy Orange; seventeen great-grandchildren; a brother James Daniel Clark of Trigg; three sisters Annie Bell Stafford of Trigg, Marie Clauson of Maryland, and Vickie Buttington of California.



Graveside funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 AM in Clarks Memory Gardens at Trigg and military graveside services by American Legion and VFW Posts of Giles County. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
