William Andrew "John" Williams, 85, of Shute Hollow at Narrows died Sunday morning, July 31, 2005 at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Maybrook on November 13, 1919 he was a son of the late Olie Lee and Mary Bonds Williams. He was retired from the L&M Tannery at Bluff City, was a veteran of the Civilian Conservation Corps and was preceded in death by a son W. A Williams.

He is survived by his former wife and best friend Doris Fletcher Williams of Narrows, a son and daughter-in-law Roger and Betty Williams of Pearisburg; two daughters and a son-in-law Betty Jo and Bobby Reynolds of Pearisburg, Karen D. Williams of Narrows; two step-sons Lester Ervin and wife Rita of Pearisburg, Sherman L. Fletcher of Narrows; two sisters Alice Whitmeyer of Salem and Susie Blackman of Pulaski; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
