On Wednesday, September 28, 2011, Worley Ernest "Ernie" Simerly of Pearisburg, departed this life to be with his Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents Worley and Dorothy Denton Simerly of Ripplemead.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patty Turner Simerly of Pearisburg; his son and daughter-in-law Scott and Tina Simerly of Pembroke; his daughter and son-in-law Angela and Rick Lang of Riplemead; his sister and brother-in-law Betty and Garry Martin of Ripplemead; his step-children Willie Moses III of Wytheville, Angie Lytton, Amy Stephens of Christiansburg; his loving grandchildren Chad Smith, Rachel Lang, Sarah Lang, Levi Simerly, Olivia Stephens, Luke Stephens, Will Moses IV, Sara Moses, and Claire Moses.

He was a devoted husband, an outstanding Dad, and a precious man. Ernie was retired from Hercules Powder Co., Radford, and a member since childhood of Riverview Baptist Church. He had been, until disabled, a member of Castle Rock Lodge AF&AM in Pembroke. His happiest times were when he was with his family and his life on the farm.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
