Phillip Roe Johnson, 59 of Pembroke, Virginia departed this life suddenly on February 22, 2023 in his home. Born on March 17, 1963 he was a son of Sylvia Williams Johnson and the late Mack Donald Johnson.

Phillip was proud to serve his country in the United States Air Force as an Airman First Class. Later he would work for the Giles County PSA. Phillip's greatest blessing in life was his family; he especially enjoyed spoiling all of the babies. He also enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, MOPAR, Airplanes, and driving his trucks.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Julia Johnson of Pembroke; Mother, Sylvia Johnson of Pembroke; son, Jerry Linkous (Michaela) of McCoy; daughters, Christina Johnson Rice (Devin) of Pearisburg, and Teri Hamlin of Coal City, WV; grandchildren, Savanna (Lonnie), Leah, Amanda, Alix, Addy, Conner, Mason, and Liam Mack; great-grandchildren, Wayne Roe, Elliana, and Waylon; brother, Bruce Johnson of Narrows, VA; sisters, Penny Keaton (Scott) of Chesapeake, VA; and a special cousin, Michael Meyer. He also had multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins left to carry on his memory.

A funeral service will be conducted for Mr. Johnson on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tony Johnson officiating.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Kendall Funeral Home.
